By creating an account, submitting a profile, or otherwise using Japannikah.com (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not register for or use the Platform. We may update these Terms from time to time (see Section 19) — continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
Japannikah.com is a strictly halal Muslim matrimonial introduction platform — not a dating application, matchmaking agency, marriage bureau, or Wali/guardian substitute. We provide a listing and communication tool that allows members to create profiles and connect with one another for the purpose of marriage.
We do not select, recommend, vet, or endorse any match; we do not perform criminal background checks, employment verification, marital-status verification, financial checks, or identity verification beyond the basic manual review described in Section 5; and we do not guarantee that any member is who they claim to be, or that any interaction will lead to a halal, safe, or successful marriage.
We may ask for further information to confirm eligibility at any time, and may suspend or reject an account where eligibility cannot be reasonably confirmed.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy, truthfulness, and completeness of everything you submit — your profile details, photos, and any information you share with other members. You are also responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
We are not responsible for, and accept no liability arising from, any information a member submits that turns out to be false, misleading, outdated, or impersonating another person, nor for any decision another member makes in reliance on that information.
Every profile is manually reviewed by our admin team before it becomes visible to other members. This review is a basic, good-faith check for completeness, obvious fake or duplicate profiles, and adherence to our community guidelines — it is not a criminal background check, identity verification, financial check, marital-status check, or any form of due diligence on the individual, and must not be relied upon as one. A "Verified" badge or an approved profile means only that a human reviewed the submission and found nothing obviously wrong with it at that time — it is not a certification of that person's character, intentions, or truthfulness.
The following are strictly prohibited on Japannikah.com:
We may investigate suspected violations and take any action described in Section 15, with or without prior notice.
Once you exchange contact details (phone number, email, social media, messaging apps, or any other means) with another member, or communicate or meet with them by any channel outside Japannikah.com, that interaction is entirely between you and that individual and is outside our knowledge, visibility, and control.
You acknowledge and agree that Japannikah.com, its owner(s), operators, and staff:
We strongly encourage members to take sensible precautions — meet in public places, inform a family member or Wali of your plans, avoid sharing your home address early on, and take time to verify a person's identity and intentions independently before meeting or exchanging sensitive information.
We do not guarantee that you will find a match, that any match will be compatible, genuine, or suitable, or that any connection made through the Platform will result in marriage or a successful marriage. Matrimonial matching inherently involves interacting with people you do not know, and carries inherent personal, emotional, financial, and physical risk.
By using the Platform, you knowingly and voluntarily assume all such risk. You are solely responsible for exercising your own judgment — and, per Islamic tradition, for involving your Wali/family as appropriate — before making any decision based on a connection made through Japannikah.com.
Unfortunately, no online platform can fully prevent bad actors from misrepresenting themselves, running romance scams, attempting blackmail or extortion (including using photos or personal information shared in confidence), or otherwise defrauding another member. Japannikah.com is not responsible for, and shall have no liability for, any fraud, scam, catfishing, blackmail, extortion, coercion, theft, financial loss, emotional distress, or any other harm arising from the conduct of another member or a third party, whether that conduct occurred on the Platform or after moving off-platform.
If you believe you have been the victim of fraud, blackmail, or a crime, you should report it to the Japanese police (or the relevant authority in your jurisdiction) in addition to notifying us — we can suspend the offending account but cannot investigate crimes or recover funds on your behalf.
Any personal information, photo, or content you choose to share directly with another member — including anything shared via the Platform's messaging (once available) or after exchanging outside contact details — is shared entirely at your own discretion and risk. We have no ability to control what a recipient does with information you voluntarily share with them, including if they save, forward, publish, or misuse it, and we accept no liability for such misuse.
All communication on the Platform must adhere to Islamic etiquette and modesty standards, and be purposeful and oriented toward marriage. We strongly encourage — but cannot require or verify — that members involve their Wali or family as appropriate according to Islamic tradition throughout the process. The Standard Membership ($10 for 3 months) provides access to messaging and full profile features once activated by our admin team following payment confirmation. Memberships do not auto-renew.
All payments are non-refundable once membership has been activated, except where required by applicable law. We are not responsible for delays in payment verification, or for issues arising from a third-party payment processor or bank.
You retain ownership of the profile text, photos, and other content you submit. By submitting content, you grant Japannikah.com a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and process that content solely for the purpose of operating the Platform (e.g. showing your profile to other members according to your privacy settings). We may remove any content that violates these Terms or our guidelines.
If you experience or witness prohibited conduct, harassment, a fake profile, fraud, or any behavior that concerns you, please report it to us with as much detail as possible. We will review reports and may warn, suspend, or permanently ban an account, but we cannot guarantee that every violation will be detected, reported, or prevented, and our response does not constitute an admission of liability.
We may suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate any account, at our sole discretion and with or without prior notice, for violation of these Terms, suspected fraudulent or fake profiles, suspected criminal conduct, or any behavior we reasonably believe is harmful to another member or the Platform.
Termination for cause does not entitle a member to a refund of any membership fee already paid. You may also delete your own account at any time from your dashboard settings.
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or that the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Japannikah.com, its owner(s), operators, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of the Platform or any interaction with another member — including but not limited to any fraud, scam, blackmail, extortion, harassment, physical harm, emotional distress, financial loss, or failed or harmful marriage arrangement.
Where liability cannot be fully excluded under applicable law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Platform shall not exceed the total membership fees you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Japannikah.com, its owner(s), operators, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Platform; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) any content you submit; or (d) your interaction, communication, or meeting with another member, whether on or off the Platform.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Platform, our practices, or legal requirements. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continuing to use the Platform after a change is posted means you accept the revised Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between you and Japannikah.com regarding use of the Platform.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
